Hue Help was established in July 2006, and registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales in December 2006. Hue Help was founded as a cooperation between American and British students and Vietnamese NGO professionals, who in 2006 observed that a small amount of money could go a long way in addressing the many unmet health, education and safety needs of the city’s poor children, in particular at its nine major orphanages. Since our founding, we have grown in size and capacity, hiring full time staff and operating numerous programmes throughout the Thua Thien Hue province, designed to improve the quality of life of disadvantaged children.
We want local people to be the driving force behind our operations in Vietnam. We employ local professionals for many of our operations on a day to day basis, and use participatory methods to ensure the people our work helps are at the heart of our programme development.
We are a completely non-profit, non-political and non-religious organisation.
