Group Volunteer Placements
Program Summary
We help groups carry out construction or renovation projects in and around Hue. The projects are designed to provide groups with a unique experience, by teaching them practical skills which are put in use to benefit orphanages and care institutions in the province. Our role is to find places that are in need of renovation or construction work, and organise everything for the groups. These programs are ideal for colleges, schools or groups of students, but also companies and other groups wanting to participate in team building exercises whilst doing something useful for the wider community!
What we provide
We work closely with partner groups before they arrive in Vietnam, providing them with...
- Detailed outline of the project proposed;
- Arrangement of basic accommodation and food (or resources to prepare food);
- Professional local workers to help train groups how to carry out their work;
- Support of our local staff and volunteers to help co-ordinate activities and translate;
- Permission and support from relevant local authorities in Vietnam.

The cost
The approximate cost of the programs is usually indicated in the program summary (above), but will vary depending on the demands of each group. The cost is therefore intended as a guideline. On receipt of an application, we will create a detailed estimate of the project considering current costs and the particular requirements of your group.
To cover the costs that our office incurs through translation, preparing documents, travel and the comprehensive support that we offer groups during their stay, it is necessary for us to charge a small administration fee. This is usually around 10% of the total project cost.

NOTE: Because of the time it takes to cover the administration to send volunteers to Vietnam, usually you will have to apply a minimum of two months before the proposed start date of your placement.
After we receive an application, we will assess it and consider your suitability for the program. Our volunteer co-ordinator will then contact you, and may ask for a telephone interview. If you are successful, we will then notify you and send you the formal paperwork.
