Feeling the crunch

The economic downturn has dominated the headlines for a long time now, and the impact is being felt by businesses, individuals and the third sector across the globe.

For Hue Help, there is also an impact. One pound is now worth only 24-25,000VND, compared to 32,000VND last year. Combine that with rising costs in Vietnam, as well as the loss of some key donors, we are in for a tough year. Our unpaid management are working tirelessly to find additional funding sources to prevent the impact of the crisis being felt by the people our programs work with. But we do need more help.

We know this is a difficult time for everyone, and many simply don’t have as much to give as before. For those who have support our work, and those who have supported us in the past, we are truly grateful for your support to help us make a lasting difference to the lives of disadvantaged children in central Vietnam.

However, to limit the impact of the economic downturn, we need help. We don’t usually want to use this blog in this way, but we do need more funding to help our projects remain stable. Most of our work is funded by individuals across the world, individuals who have made it possible for us to achieve what we have over the past two years. We also need more people to help us out. We are particularly looking for people with experience in fundraising, but we also need people to simply help with letter writing and general administration. A lot of the work can be carried out from anywhere in the world, providing you have access to the internet. If you do have some spare time to give we would love to hear from you. There will be more details of volunteer opportunities in our March newsletter as well, but please contact us if you feel you have something to offer.

We are proud of what we have achieved over the past two years, and are looking forward to continuing to develop our programs to become ever more effective!
