Rhiannon Thomas : Artist Focus
As a Textile Craft artist, I use traditional craft techniques such as basketry and braiding on modern materials to produce 3D textiles.
In addition to creating wire sculptures I also paint, which provides further inspiration for shapes and forms to sculpt. These colourful and abstracted paintings aim to express personal experiences and impressions of places, which may be down the road or the other side of the world.
I spent the summer of 2008 volunteering for the charity Hue Help, a very rewarding experience. Since then I have taken an active interest in the charity and produce Christmas cards each year, donating a third of the profit directly to Hue Help.
