Hue Help was established in July 2006, and registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales in December 2006.

Hue Help was founded in cooperation between American and British students and Vietnamese NGO professionals, who in 2006 observed that a small amount of money could go a long way in addressing the many unmet health, education and safety needs of the city's poor children, in particular at its nine major orphanages. Since our founding, we have grown in size and capacity and hired a full-time representative in Vietnam.

Our main program is sponsorship of the Home of Affection Orphanage, which houses twenty- two children, ages one through sixteen. Beyond this, Hue Help focuses on practical projects, such as swimming lessons for children in a city that annually floods and first aid training for orphanage managers. In cooperation with several local doctors, we also run a mobile clinic in the suburbs of the city to provide basic check-ups and medicines in areas where families and children rarely visit the doctor. In addition, we also have an international volunteer program, which provides high quality, qualified teachers to orphanages and institutions in Hue. At the moment, we are also currently developing tutoring and vocational training programs to help local authorities build their capacity to provide opportunities for the high school aged children at Hue’s orphanages

We are a completely non-profit, non-political and non-religious organisation.

Hue Help will provide a range of continuously improving programs and projects to benefit disadvantaged people in central Vietnam, with a particular focus on the health and education of children

A local focus
Hue Help projects are developed locally. We allow people in local communities and institutions to decide for themselves how they need help, and it can be acheived, to ensure culture compatability. All of our full time team in Vietnam are Vietnamese people from the area we work in.
